Crates full of delicious local goodies on your doorstep

Bled Breakfast

Every morning a crate full of organic produce from Bled and surrounding area is delivered to you. In the crate, you will find thirteen local ingredients for a rich and hearty breakfast and a delicious start to the day.

In their desire to introduce local and homemade food to people from around the world, Jure Jeglič and Nastja Dolar Bratuša designed the breakfast crate. They deliver to all villages surrounding Bled, including Bohinjska Bela, Spodnje and Zgornje Gorje, Radovljica, Lesce and Podbrezje. The selection of local ingredients, on which the traditional Slovenian breakfast is based, is packed in neat crates for two, four or eight persons.

Rich Slovenian breakfast, also in gluten-free or vegetarian options

In Slovenia, we believe that delicious bread is of key importance. Freshly baked bread and croissants from a local bakery form the basis of the breakfast.

The traditional Slovenian breakfast is made up of bread, butter, honey, milk and an apple, which you will also find in the crate. But, in addition to these, you can also find a jar of one of a diverse selection of homemade fruit jams, most frequently strawberry and apple, as well as cheese and homemade beef and pork salami. There’s also seasonal fruit, free-range eggs, daily fresh pasteurised milk and various flavours of yoghurt: blueberry, chocolate, vanilla, apple, apricot, raspberry and pineapple with coconut. Nastja and Jure obtain the majority of ingredients from the local farms Dolenc, Matijovc, Budl, Pr’ Petelin and Pr’ Krč. The bread is baked in the Pogačnik bakery, the meat is from the Tišlr butcher shop and honey from the Kral beekeepers.

They also provide homemade granola with chocolate, fruit or nuts. The homemade 100 per cent apple juice is also part of the offer. You can choose a crate with gluten-free bread and cereal, or gluten-free and vegetarian crates in which you get different types of cheese instead of salami. They also cater to extra requirements and replacements.

Reusable packaging

The breakfast, which is delivered every morning between 8.00 and 11.00 in an elegant, hand-made wooden crate with an ingenious little shelf for fresh eggs, must be ordered by 19.00 the previous evening. If you’re too late, you can still give them a call, as they prepare a few extra crates. The wooden crate, glasses for milk and juice, jars for jams and honey are reusable. The packaging, which you leave on your doorstep, is collected the next morning or upon your next order.

A personalised thank-you note with a QR code, which takes you to the site with ratings and opinions of those who have tried the breakfast, is left for you in the crate. On the website, you can provide your feedback. Many write a thank-you letter to Nastja and Jure by hand.

The Bled breakfast is not only a delicious start to a new day, but also supports small producers and food providers in the immediate vicinity.
