Have you ever had the pleasure of enjoying top quality dishes above the mountain tops? In the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, the cable cars of the Krvavec Ski Resort can change into small boutique restaurants. Up to four people can enjoy a four-course dinner with a picturesque view, while the cable car takes you up the steep mountain walls.
This innovative culinary experience is brought to you by two gastronomy providers, Dvor Jezeršek and Gostilna Krištof. The dinner takes place between the lower and the upper station of the cable car that usually lifts skiers to the Krvavec Ski Resort. The Krvavec Sports and Tourism Centre is located just 25 kilometres away from Ljubljana. In the summer, the ski resort is converted into Krvavec Summer Park, offering many options for active and fun experiences.
For the duration of a Cable Car Dinner, the cable cars become comfortable and elegant spaces. This makes them the perfect option for a romantic candle-light dinner date with an amazing view, or for a memorable evening with friends.
When you arrive at the lower cable car station, you are greeted with an aperitif and something hot to warm you up. The menu is adjusted seasonally, which means that you can expect different seasonal soups, pumpkin soup in autumn, sometimes with a fruity twist, and herbal soup in spring. During the summer heat, the warm soups can be replaced with something cool and refreshing, such as tomato soup with pesto.
This first refreshment and the aperitif will take you to the first panoramic ride of the evening, which is followed by three cold appetizers at the upper cable car station. This introduction to the meal comes in three acts – meat, fish, and vegetables – and is served in transparent spheres.
During the last ascent of around 1000 m, you will enjoy the main course which is served at the lower cable car station. One final stop before the descent is at the Sonček alpine cottage to pamper your tastebuds with Krištof’s dessert, while you enjoy the performance of a folklore group from the nearby town of Cerklje. The entire experience lasts around three hours.
