Vila Planinka

  • MICHELIN GUIDE 2021

Time flows differently at Vila Planinka!

The restaurant of boutique hotel Vila Planinka is the long-awaited answer to the demands of many fine dining enthusiasts.

Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, at a place where energy points were discovered five hundred years ago, the architecture of Vila Planinka blends in seamlessly with the unspoiled nature of Jezersko.

The boutique hotel impresses not only with the luxury of pristine nature, but also with an alpine chic interior, a combination to guarantee a relaxing detachment from the stress of everyday life. Following the picturesque main road along the river Kokra, it is worth driving up north to Zgornje Jezersko for a holiday as well as for the top-quality cuisine.

Committed to sustainability, Vila Planinka boasts first-class dishes made with delicious high-quality local ingredients. The menus are seasonal and tailored to their guests’ wishes and needs. Don’t look for pineapples, bananas or sodas from large global corporations here. Chef Blaž Derlink’s team believes that they can find everything they need right here at home.

They believe in tradition, and with more than 200 labels of exclusively Slovenian boutique wines, they prove to the world how proud we can be of our own local aromas and flavours.

There is nothing perfect in nature, yet nature itself is perfect.

As sensitive observers at Vila Planinka, they recognise the wishes of their guests and draw from nature.

Like a good mother who pampers her children with their favourite food and tries to fulfil even the smallest of wishes, the staff at the Vila Planinka restaurant pampers the hotel guests with personalised daily menus. Bread is an important food in Slovenian cuisine, which is why at Vila Planinka they prepare homemade fresh bread from organically grown grain on a daily basis.

The hotel’s restaurant also welcomes outside guests with prior reservation, who can choose between a 4-, 5- or 7-course menu.

The excellent sommelier, Marko Koren, will suggest and serve a wine pairing. You can also get any wine from their extensive collection by the glass, or treat yourself to a bottle of your favourite from any of Slovenia’s nine wine-growing regions.

Meet the chef

His dishes don't need big words.

Straightforward at first glance, but made with the best ingredients. Just like his cuisine.

Even as a child, Blaž Derlink loved to browse, read, buy and collect cookbooks. After graduating from the hospitality and tourism school in Radovljica, he travelled a lot, trying new and different flavours. He was visiting and working for world-renowned chefs while absorbing all the knowledge like a sponge. These experiences, combined with a responsible attitude towards nature, are the basis of his gastronomic creation.

Chef Derlink’s cuisine is based on the use of local Slovenian produce, while excluding mass-produced ingredients.
