3. Underground wine festival

Following two immensely successful editions, the 3rd Underground Wine Festival returns to the magical Vinag Wine Cellar. Here, a rich winemaking heritage, contemporary wine culture, and a unique festival atmosphere converge across more than 15,000 m² of space and 2.1 kilometers of underground tunnels built in 1847.

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, this year’s festival will once again bring together top Slovenian winemakers, wine enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a special summer experience. Visitors will be welcomed by over 30 premium Slovenian winemakers stationed throughout the picturesque cellar spaces, where they can taste select wines, discover the stories behind them, and enjoy carefully curated culinary delights. A unique festival atmosphere will be created by the striking lighting and visual design of the underground tunnels, a musical program, and numerous surprises accompanying visitors on their wine journey through the magnificent cellar. Following the day's festivities, the event will continue from 8:00 PM with an energetic after-party, where we will wrap up another unforgettable underground wine evening together.
