Just like in a fairy tale

High-quality ingredients, artistic creations and a fairy-tale ambience

Imagine an adorable wooden villa surrounded with lush greenery and a lake. Moonshine and dimmed lights can be seen on the water. The interior is impressive, yet tastefully decorated. Romantic lighting, works of art, candles, elegant tables and warmth of the wood create a fairly-tale atmosphere and set the scene for what is to come. It’s pleasant on the glass terrace all year round since winters are warmer in the Goriško region than elsewhere.

The culinary story at this picturesque location in Nova Gorica is told by the Gašparin family: mother Maruška, father Boris and sons, Tadej and Taras, who is the youngest.

Their hospitality philosophy is determined through their own experiencing of the world: they like to eat and drink well, socialise and enjoy genuine contact. They want to share all of the above with their guests.

The cuisine that is based on supreme ingredients from the sea and their original preparation was designed by mother Maruška. Their food remains excellent and even bolder under the watchful eye of young chef Tadej, who is gradually coming to the forefront.

Creative seafood dishes prevail, but they can prepare meat as well.

The legendary sea bass carpaccio sliced in front of the guest is divine. Pampering with seafood delights only begins here. Meat eaters will not be disappointed either. Try a leg of piglet or beef cheeks with potato cream. If the choice is too difficult, go for the tasting menu,

and let the hosts choose your wine. Boris and Maruška are knights of the European Order of Wine Knights, while Boris is also one of the most experienced Slovenian sommeliers.
