The Kozjansko Apple Festival

The biggest event in Kozjansko Park, which highlights the importance of apples, apple trees and meadow orchards, and promotes the preservation of natural heritage.

The Kozjansko Apple Festival traditionally takes place in the second week of October in the town of Podsreda. We traditionally begin with the Sunday Walk through the Kozjansko orchards and conclude with the fair on the second weekend of October. The highlight of this year’s Kozjansko Apple Festival will be on Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October 2026, when the Podsreda market square will be filled with numerous stallholders offering regional produce. The focus of the market is on apples from meadow orchards, home-made products and produce, and arts and crafts free from ‘global kitsch’. The event is accompanied by a rich cultural programme, demonstrations of almost forgotten crafts, competitive and social games, and creative workshops for children. Numerous societies, associations and protected areas, as well as primary schools and nurseries from the Kozjansko Park area, will also be presenting themselves.
