Water

Popular spritzers, local beers or certain beverages in a spa town frequently owe their flavour to water.

In Thermal Pannonian Slovenia, the region of numerous thermal and mineral springs, fresh, open wines from nearby hills combined with water are a popular summer beverage. Natural sparkling mineral water is usually added to drinks such as spritzer. Variations of this drink have precisely determined the ratios between wine and water.
Bevanda, a combination of wine and tap or spring water, is popular in Mediterranean and Karst Slovenia.

Where water is not bottled, it is incorporated into drinking treatments and delicacies, such as biscuits made with thermal water.

No good beer without water

In brewing towns such as Laško and Ljubljana, it is clear that excellent water is necessary for good beer.

Drinking treatments in spas

Spas that do not bottle their water incorporate it into drinking treatments and dishes made with thermal water.

MY WAY OF
GOING GREEN.

When walking about Slovenia, you can encounter freely accessible wells and springs

Ask the locals and they will tell you the legends about the origin of springs. Some have interesting composition.

When wandering around Slovenia, discover springs of drinking water with different properties, e.g. with high iron content. You will recognise them by an orange hue in the surrounding soil. Some springs are ascribed energy powers.
